Taught what wrought not
Pertaining to the
things that I ought,
Even in the presence of much thought,
The pressures of battles I have fought,
Making me feel quite overwrought.
The creeping fear of
losing the plot,
Avoiding things done falling to rot,
Using my wits and wiles is all I got,
To ensure nothing at all goes to pot.
Finding the stream in
which to be caught,
To make for a rather better case and lot,
Even if for the work success can’t be bought,
We still strive beyond what we sought.
